Preparation and Biological Evaluation of Iodopromazine as a Radiopharmaceutical Model for Brain Imaging

This study aimed to prepare a novel radiopharmaceutical for the detection of brain disorders at early stages in susceptible patients.Promazine hydrochloride was labeled with 125I by direct electrophilic substitution reaction high labeling yields 92.6 ± 3.24 %. The yield and vitro stability 125I-promazine were determined paper electrophoresis, chromatography (PC) High performance liquid (HPLC). In studies showed that highest radiochemical (92.6±3.24%) stable up 6 h. Biodistribution maximum uptakes mice 5.4 0.18 % injected dose/g after 30 min post-injectionwhich is higher than 99mTc-HMPAO 99mTc-ECD (2.25 4.7 %, respectively), so this confirms specificity selectivity radiotracer could be used imaging instead commercially available 99mTc-HMPAOand 99mTc-ECD.
